Parking in Downtown Nashville can be difficult and even expensive. Let’s be honest, this is true for any big city. I’ve been blessed to be able to travel to many places across the US. Most big cities have the same parking issues .. expensive and sometimes difficult to find. I can honestly say that Nashville isn’t the worst nor as expensive by comparison.
I am going to try my best to make this page a good reliable resource for you to find parking in downtown Nashville. Please keep something in mind, with the exception of the places owned by Nashville / Davidson County, prices and availability can change at a moment’s notice. So, anytime I find information that is different from what I have on this page. I will update this ASAP! Basically, no privately run/owned website can be held responsible for parking pricing quotes or information. Hey … I’m just being honest. With that being said, I hope this article helps with your downtown Nashville parking.
The vast majority of parking in Nashville is privately owned by either a business establishment or a private individual. They control the pricing on their lots. So it goes without saying the pricing varies from one lot to another. Aside from the county/city-owned parking areas, the pricing ranges between $10 -$50 a day. I say those numbers very loosely!
Nissan Stadium (Titan’s Football Stadium)
Address: W side of S 1st St, N side of the bridge
Check out lot R for free parking. Yep .. Free!! But there is a slight catch. It is about a 10-minute walk to the party district in which you walk across the pedestrian bridge. As you cross the bridge you get a great view of the lights and action of downtown Nashville. I’ve walked it many times. I even stop on the bridge and soak up the view of the lights reflecting off the river. Nashville is a beautiful city with its mixture of new and old architecture … then add the colorful lights .. just WOW!!
The walk to the party district is no problem, it is very peaceful and pleasant. The walk back when you’re walking a bit sideways from bar hopping .. well .. please have someone with you to guide you and most of all drive you to your sleeping destination.
Metro Courthouse Garage
Address: 101 James Robertson Parkway
Probably at least 99% of the time I go to downtown Nashville this is where I park. The two entrances are James Robertson Parkway just a the end of the bridge, the other is about midway on Gay Street.
As long as you roll in after 5 pm Friday you will usually only pay $5 for the day (well .. what’s left of it). On certain events, you may pay $15 or even $25 but to be honest it is only a couple of times a year that it gets that high. During really big city-wide events/festivals it may get to $25 a day. These are daily rates so it is still CHEAP for downtown Nashville Parking!!
Now don’t expect this to happen every time .. buuut … there have been times I’ve left the parking garage after midnight and there was no attendant to take parking payment. So, they will leave the gate up for you to roll out for FREE! Yep .. Free parking!!
If you happen to park here during the regular workweek during regular work hours. The parking payment caps at $20 a day.
This garage is open 24/7 with easy access to 2nd Ave (party area!), Broadway (another party area!), Printers Alley (yep .. another party area!), Nissan Stadium, Riverfront Park, TPAC, and much more!! OK .. I’m gonna be a total buzzkill now. It is also really close to the courthouse if you get a speeding ticket in Davidson County … trust me I know this LOL!!
Metro Library Parking Garage
Address: 151 6th Ave North, 37219
As of this writing on 6/16/21 after 6 pm Friday and weekend the rate is $10 daily. For special events, the rate can get up to $15. If you happen to be in this garage during the regular week it is $3 per every 30 minutes at a maximum of $20 per day. If you are in the library (it is freaking awesome!) during the day you can get a “validation” to lessen the weekday rates. This is a county-owned garage so it is pretty well consistent in pricing.
On-Street Parking for Downtown Nashville
Monday through Saturday after 6 pm free then all day Sunday. As you can see from the strike-through text, this has changed. Free parking is no longer offered at these locations. The rates are in the picture above and there are over 1000 locations. If you gotta ask, yes there are meter reader cops to enforce this. Deadrick Street is within close walking distance of the party district and has lots of other fun stuff and great food! There is On-street parking on Gay Street, which is very close to Lower Broadway!!
5th and Broadway Parking
This parking area in Downtown Nashville offers the least amount of walking. This parking garage has 830 parking spaces available. 5th and Broadway parking has the Food Assembly Hall connected to it. There are LOTS of great food choices with many of the local favorites having a location here.
The parking rates as of 2/22/22 are as listed: 11minutes to 1hr: $6, 1hr to 2hr: $12, 2hr to 3hr: $17, 3hr to 5hr: $20, 5hr to 24hr: $30.
Just a heads up, not all downtown hotels have their own parking. Here is a list of downtown Nashville hotels that are within walking distance of the bars.
Are there other options for Downtown Nashville Parking?
Those above are obviously not the only options to park. There are MANY MANY more privately owned lots to choose from. I will continue to add the more popular and convenient ones so you will have the information to help you out.
In the meantime, there are a couple of apps/websites to help you with finding downtown Nashville Parking.
Downtown Nashville Parking Apps
Spot Hero is a website that also has an app available to load on your phone. The app is available on Android or Apple. Click here for Nashville Spot Hero.
The other popular app is Park Whiz. Like the site/app above, Park Whiz is available as a website or phone app. The app is available for Android or Apple. Click here for Nashville Park Whiz.
If you happen to be going to Gaylord Opryland Hotel to walk around the atriums, here is the free parking option.
